I like O'Reilly books. From time to time I bye one or two, even if I don't need them right now. After all, they look so nice staying on bookshelf together (especially those from "animal series").

One of the last book (rather booklette) I baught was "Smileys" by David Sanderson. For an average computer book it was ancient (1993), but some subjects in Computer Science remain relatively unchanged for a more time than others.

Being acquainted with smileys for a long time before (after all, running smiley from my .login), I didn't expect to find something embrassingly new there - and was mistaken.

The best smiley I ever saw I found in that book. Here it is in the full glory:

Guess what it is? After the smiley is revealed, not so hard to guess. Cheshire Cat, whate else. This is The Ultimate Smiley, the Platonian Idea of smiley, the Kantian "Smiley an Sich", so to say.
